Heliview Online launches new knowledge platform Kennisportal

Kennisportal website on desktop, iPad and iPhone

I'm pleased to inform you that Heliview Online just recently launched their redesigned knowledge platform Kennisportal. Set up as an intermediary between knowledge bearers and questioners in 2003; Kennisportal.com is now sharing thousands of knowledge documents monthly. On Kennisportal users can without liability download knowledge documents for free.

For this informative website I have picked a minimalistic design approach; guiding the user on a pleasant journey through the platform. Besides designing this site I have transformed the site to an HTML5 & CSS3 format making it ready for the new future in front-end development.

Cheqqer Triplog iPhone & Android screen versions

Cheqqer has developed an app to keep all your travels logged in one place. In Cheqqer Triplog you can see all the places you've been to, badges you have collected, where your friends have been. The nice feature about it is that you can use this app offline and sync your data later, you won't have to deal with roaming costs.

Roundtrip USA

Roundtrip East Coast USA, Janet Jackson

In March my bf & me enjoyed a roundtrip through the East Coast of the United States. Starting with New York the female's shopping wallhalla! From New York we went to Atlanta, Georgia to attend a concert of Janet Jackson in the Fox Theater. After three days in Atlanta we took a flight to Orlando to visit Disneyworld and last but not least our trip brought us to bonito a Miami. My personal favorites of this trip were Atlanta & Miami.

Review collection campaigns

Review collection campaigns screenshot Arke

Cheqqer is a holiday review website where people can read and share their travel experiences. We give our users the opportunity to leave a review about a destination or accommodation through our Review Collection Campaigns. To support the business objectives I’ve set up a white label template (design & front-end) that can easily be used & modified by different brands within the TUI organisation; think Arke & Holland International.

Cheqqer holiday travel review website

What is Cheqqer?

Cheqqer is a holiday travel review website where people can read and share reviews with each other.

Why I joined Cheqqer?

I was one of the first people to join the holiday travel review website Cheqqer in 2009. Since it is a start-up company it gives me plenty of opportunities: creative direction of styleguide for Cheqqer, advising on usability experiences, being actively involved with usability testing, creative direction & designs for an iPhone app, leading the way into a designed web standard where design is used to reflect the brand and support the company objectives.

What interests me about Cheqqer?

One of my favorite ways of communicating is through social media web sites, making new friends on and offline. Meeting new people in the business who you can exchange ideas with and or maybe even share projects with. Traveling around the world to meet new people from various cultures, in other words it broadens your horizon & enriches our lives.

Photography, Seal on North Sea Jazz and publication

photo Seal North Sea Jazz on Sylvana's Choice, Soul & Jazz section

I really enjoy making photos especially live music events photography. When I heard that Seal would make an appearance on North Sea Jazz Rotterdam in 2009 I just had to go there. Seal together with Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Anastacia and Sting inspire me in my music journey as well as in my work. This picture I made of Seal was used and published on Radio 6 Sylvana’s Choice, Soul & Jazz section.

Spinnin' Records

Spinnin' Records project management site design

Spinnin' Records is an energetic dance label bringing you the hottest trends and latest tunes in house, trance, electro house & techno. A very dynamic and fun environment to work in with weekly release schedules.

For Spinnin' Records I led the project of re-designing the website from the first stage to the final product. Business requirements were that within one click users should be able to download the latest releases. I made the first drafts then send the requirements off to Martinmedia, who made the site perfectly fit with the label's music genres. While I was there the site was updated with fresh content every week.

What I've advised Spinnin' to do is to set up and use YouTube as a channel to spread their releases. I continuously hunted down videos so I could place them on the channel. It makes me happy to see that over the years it has hit the roof and grew out to be Spinnin’ TV with 152,294 subscribers and 394,519,873 upload views (12 March 2011)

MTV International

MTV European Music Awards 2006 screenshot

I felt honored and thrilled when I heard that from a thousand candidates on the job application I was the one they picked. It knocked me off my feet so much that I nearly forgot that I actually had to do work too.

During my time at MTV I assisted our Senior Producer on the EMA’s Live by putting fresh content on the page while the show was running. I've done project management for all the MTV Movies sites; had regular contact with the regional offices to arrange local language assets like videos, translations and images.

For Nickelodeon project 'Over The Hedge' I was asked to check the site's user interface navigation. The main language for this project was Dutch therefore I was appointed on checking all the sites content. Other things I’ve done for MTV: voice-overs, transcribing tapes for a newspaper, creating flash banners for the Talent & Music site and a lot more fun things while I was at the heart of Oxford Street in London.

Anastacia Fan Club

Anastacia Newkirk fan site screenshot

When I was a teenager I strolled down all the record shops to find new music & artists. In 1997 Janet Jackson released her super hit 'Together Again' which led me to her famous legendary brother Michael Jackson. It was Michael Jackson who called Anastacia after he saw her performing on MTV talent show ‘The Cut’. It was then when I heard her voice on the radio that made me think wow this woman blows up my speakerbox!

Through luck I met her at the Tros TV Show in 2000 in The Netherlands, from there together with my friend I set up a small fan site. Within 4 years we had 2000 members and 40.000 hits at its peak on the site. There were times that we had to switch our video content off because we were exceeding our bandwidth limits; this to prevent the site from going down on the amount of traffic.

While the record label was providing us with content all over Europe we arranged fun competitions for the fans of which the best one was to put 2 fans on stage with Anastacia in Ahoy Rotterdam during her ‘Live At Last Tour’.

Anastacia-newkirk.com is now closed due to our busy schedules however you can still find us on Twitter under Anastacia News Twitter which at this date has 1740 followers.
